“Follow, follow the sun
And which way the wind blows
When this day is done
And breathe, breathe in the air
Set your intentions
Dream with care

Tomorrow is a new day for everyone
A brand new moon, and a brand new sun”

// Caroline Pennell

1) The last photo I snapped in our apartment complex before leaving for the airport to fly to Oklahoma for Christmas—it’s quite a contrast from what Oklahoma felt like haha

2) Taking off from the Oakland airport. That’s the Bay, San Francisco, and the ocean all in one photo :) We had never flown from Oakland before this trip, and it was lovely! They have a nice airport and taking off over the Bay was really really delightful. 10/10 would recommend.

3-9) Some snaps from our Christmases! We took lots more photos than this, but I didn’t want to post them since I didn’t ask everyone if they were ok with showing up on my site :) These are mostly from my side of the family—which you can probably tell based on the number of cousins pictured here and the number of antlers haha We had a great time with all of our families celebrating 3 Christmases— I hope your holidays were lovely too!

10-11) I did a terrible job of getting photos with everyone in Oklahoma (sorry, everyone! I love you even if we didn’t get to see you!) despite the fact that we were quite busy running around seeing friends, but I did snap these two from some necessary establishments one is required to visit when one is in OKC, Cuppies & Joe and Commonplace Books

12-17) We were able to squeeze in a tiny trip to my family’s “ranch” with our bests, Blake and Brian, while we were in OK. It had been over a year since Colin, Blake, and I had been there and over two years since we had all been there together. Given that we used to go at least twice every year, that’s pretty wild!

Next time, I’m hoping we can bring a big group like usual, but this time it was so perfect to just have the four of us there. We did some hiking (walking through woods, there’s not a lot of real hiking in OK), four-wheeler riding (and towing), and played lots of Catan :) We also usually go to an all-you-can-eat catfish and BBQ place in Tishomingo, but since they were closed for the holidays, we went to The Wagon Wheel in Wapanucka instead. It was a little like going back in time at this gas station, but the food we ate was delicious! Nothing will ever beat our Tishomingo favorite in my eyes though.

18-23) More from The Ranch— such a sweet place with some of my very favorite people <3

24-26) I finally got to meet my newest little nephew, Nash McLean, on our last day in town! He’s so perfect and I love him. Look at his little face! This is us hanging out in the back of his mom’s car while we were waiting on our table at our annual Christmas breakfast :)

27-30) These are my loves, my roommates from college, my bests. I love them both very very much. I also love our Christmas breakfasts and Cafe Kacao…but not as much as I love them.

31) “Meet me here, at the edge of the earth”

32-36) This was our New Years Eve! Our flight home was a few hours after breakfast at Cafe Kacao, then we basically changed and went straight to our friend, Jenny’s, house for a party! New years is my favorite favorite holiday of all time. Ask me about it sometime haha

Also, I’m so so thankful for these San Jose friends!

37-40) Our time at home since we got back! I don’t even know what day it is anymore, but I’m so happy to be back with Bozeman and enjoying our sun-filled apartment and all this fresh January inspiration I love so much. I’m not really into making resolutions just because it’s a new year, but I do love the energy and expectation that comes with it all :)

This weekend is our 6th wedding anniversary! We didn’t get around to making any plans for it, so we’ll just be going out to dinner and planning our anniversary trip. I can’t wait!

I hope your weekend is full of inspiration and lovely people.

xx
